How does the dine & discover scheme work for NSW residents?
All NSW residents over the age of 18 will be given four x $25 vouchers (totalling $100) to spend at participating COVID-safe businesses, ranging from restaurants and cafes to theatres and art galleries.
The Dine and Discover vouchers will be split into two categories and residents will receive two $25 vouchers per category:
- Hospitality – vouchers can be spent at participating cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars from Monday to Thursday
- Entertainment and recreation – vouchers can be spent at a range of entertainment venues, for things like live music events or art shows, 7 days a week
Residents can access their vouchers via the Service NSW app or website and they must be redeemed in person at their chosen venue. You will need your email address, drivers licence and medicare number to create a Services NSW account if don’t already have an account. The process takes about 2 minutes. You will then be emailed your 4 vouchers in a PDF ( with QR code for each voucher ) or you can access them via your Service NSW account.
Can I use more than one voucher for the same bill?
Each customer can only redeem one voucher at each business per day but customers can combine their vouchers towards the same bill.
How do I access Dine and Discover vouchers if I don’t have a smart phone?
You can get your vouchers from a Service NSW branch for those who do not have a smartphone or compatible device. Ensure you have a your drivers licence , medicare card or other recognised form of personal ID.
How do I redeem my Dine and Discover Vouchers ?
To redeem just display the voucher QR code on your phone , or, printed voucher and the participating business will scan it. You can pay any difference between your actual bill and the voucher with cash or card . You do not get any refunds or credit for unspent balance on your voucher . Vouchers are for one time use only. Check with the business first that they are registered in the scheme
The vouchers can be used seven days a week, until their expiry on June 30

Business Eligibility:
- Have a device that customers can redeem the vouchers on, e.g. an iPad that can download the Service NSW for Business App as the vouchers are QR codes
- have an active ABN and be registered for GST – ensure your details are correct on the Australian Business Register before registering
- operate in NSW
- be registered as COVID Safe and have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place
- operate in one of these eligible industries:
- cafés and restaurants
- pubs, taverns, wineries, bars and clubs
- scenic and sightseeing transport
- cinemas
- museums, galleries and historic sites
- zoos, botanic gardens, wildlife parks and nature reserves
- performing arts operations, theatres and entertainment centres
- amusement, theme and water parks
- recreational activities such as go-karting, indoor climbing, mini-golf, billiards, bowling or ice-rinks
- outdoor adventures
- travel agencies and tours.
You will need to have a Smartphone or Tablet and the Service NSW for Business App to participate in the program as you will scan the customers voucher with a QR code. The App will verify the voucher, which may be wither a printed copy or a digital voucher on the customers phone.
It is anticipated that your business will receive payment for redeemed vouchers within 5 days.
The vouchers are valued at $25. No refunds are refundable. So if the customers bill is less than $25 they do not receive the leftover amount, nor does your business. Any balance is forfeited.
